She gives you classic, chic, and trendy all in one outfit. I had the pleasure of viewing and trying on pieces from her Spring ’18 collection Reverie.” Take a look at her line and get inspired from her commentary on her road to making her designer dreams come true!

How did you get into designing and sewing? J.Tracey: I started as a kid, creating clothing for my Barbie dolls. This love came back to me in college after I designed clothing for my sorority (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.) pageant. I didn’t study fashion, but I remember how much I loved it. Fast forward I moved to NYC in 2012 to further my career. I have had the opportunity to sell in the UK, work with a MTV reality show start for a number of years and participate in Brooklyn Fashion Week.

What tips do you have for other people interested in starting an online boutique?

J. Tracey: My main tip is to be patient! Try unique marketing strategies and promote your collection and self as much as possible. Also take advantage of different platforms such as Etsy and ASOS Marketplace. I was discovered by a boutique in London through Etsy and sold clothing with them several years ago.
